A Rather Tasty Screen Print

Today I was at West Yorkshire Print Workshop creating my contribution to the 20:20 Print Exchange.

I decided to use it as an opportunity to try something a little different to what I've been printing up until now. I came up with an Op Art inspired print with a Pop Arty kind of name (I did consider going a little prententious with the title, but instead opted to keep my feet very firmly on the ground!).

I present to you... "Raspberry Ripple"...

First step... print the Raspberry.
Raspberry printed.
Now for the Ripple!
Ripple printed (with registration aided by business cards).
Done!

Watch out for other fruit themed screen prints coming your way.

It's Research... Honest!

Raspberry Ripple

This might look like a tasty dessert, but it's actually research for my next screen print.

At the Neo:PrintPrize Exhibition

Neo:PrintPrize Exhibition

Today was a fun day. It was the private view and award ceremony for the Neo:PrintPrize. Well, I didn't win anything, but I'm just pleased to have had my work selected and to be a part of the show.

There were over 400 entries from printmakers nationwide. 100 prints made it through and are on show at Neo:Gallery22 until October 28th.

If you’re in the Bolton / Greater Manchester area the exhibition is definitely worth a look.

A Very Good Day to Start a Blog

I thought it was about time I got this blog up and running (it's been on my 'to do' list for a few months now).

Today seems like a good day to start, seeing as I have something worth blogging about...

I was stunned and excited to be informed that one of my screen prints has made it through to the final of the neo:printprize. It'll be in the exhibition at neo:gallery22 over in Bolton. The exhibition runs from 13th September until 28th October.

I nearly didn't get around to entering this competition. Now I'm very pleased that I did!
