Today I had a nice day out delivering screen prints to The Fabric Gallery in Bradford, ready for 'The Real Print Show', which starts next weekend.
I'm really looking forward to being a part of this exhibition in my former hometown (Huddersfield now feels completely like home to me - I absolutely love the place!). I have a lot of fond memories of Bradford, plus it's where my art & design education began (many years ago at Bradford College). So it's nice to be back there and to be contributing towards cultural happenings in the city.
The launch event for 'The Real Print Show' is on Saturday 19th October, 1 - 3pm. All are welcome. This coincides with Bradford Science Festival 2013 and Reflections event in Centenary Square, so there should be lots going on in Bradford that day!
The printmakers involved in the exhibition are:
Ruth Fettis
Anita Whittle
Angie Rogers
James Bywood
Sarah Harris
Dan Booth
Cath Brooke
Moira McTague
Hester Cox
Emily Harvey
Janis Goodman
Lesley Birch
The exhibition is being curated by the very talented June Russell.
'The Real Print Show' is on until Saturday 14th December, so there's plenty of time to go and see it.

Well, who'd have thought it :-)
I was thrilled to be commended at the Flourish Printmaking Award Ceremony tonight.
The winner was Sara Clark, with myself, June Russell and Moira McTague all being commended.
It feels like quite an achievement and it means a lot to me. Flourish was one of the things that inspired me to take up screen printing in the first place (to be specific, seeing Emma Lawrenson's solo show at Huddersfield Art Gallery). So to be a part of Flourish 2012 is really something special.

At the Neo:PrintPrize Exhibition
Today was a fun day. It was the private view and award ceremony for the Neo:PrintPrize. Well, I didn't win anything, but I'm just pleased to have had my work selected and to be a part of the show.

If you’re in the Bolton / Greater Manchester area the exhibition is definitely worth a look.

A Very Good Day to Start a Blog
I thought it was about time I got this blog up and running (it's been on my 'to do' list for a few months now).
Today seems like a good day to start, seeing as I have something worth blogging about...
I was stunned and excited to be informed that one of my screen prints has made it through to the final of the neo:printprize. It'll be in the exhibition at neo:gallery22 over in Bolton. The exhibition runs from 13th September until 28th October.
I nearly didn't get around to entering this competition. Now I'm very pleased that I did!
